ORDER

The petitioner herein, a Whistle blower, has brought to light about the encroachment and illegal constructions by three major joint companies in the North Madras and therefore, is apprehending life threat. In this petition, he has sought for Police protection stating his apprehension.

2. The respondent Police has filed a status report, wherein, it is stated that against the constructions put up by M/s.KLP Projects Pvt. Ltd., M/s.North Town Estate Pvt. Ltd., and M/s.SPR Construction Pvt. Ltd., the petitioner has given objections stating that the huge constructions put up by them will effect the infrastructure such as traffic, drainage, water supply and electricity. The information received by the petitioner herein through RTI is considered by appropriate authorities, whereas, on his request, the Police has mounted surveillance and regular check of his place by opening a patta passbook. The Police conduct check everyday both in the morning and evening since the month of February. The intelligence gathered also does not indicate any life threat to the petitioner herein. If, in case, there is any necessity, the respondent Police will increase the surveillance and provide necessary protection.
