Heard Mr.G.Anandakumar, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr.M.Fakkir Mohideen, learned Standing counsel accepting notice on behalf for the respondents 1 to 3 and with their consent, the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself.

The petitioners seek for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the 4th respondent to dispose of their petition dated 02.02.2015 within a time frame.

At this stage of the matter, this Court is not inclined to issue any positive direction to the 4th respondent to dispose of the said petition. However, the 4th respondent, being the Labour Officer, functioning under the provisions of Labour Welfare Legislation, is bound to pass orders within a reasonable time.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of giving liberty to the petitioners to pursue the petition dated 02.02.2015 before the 4th respondent which shall be considered and disposed of on merits as expeditiously as possible. No costs.
