ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.Subramaniam J.) Contempt Petition has been instituted to punish the respondents herein for willful disobedience by not complying with the direction issued by this Court in W.P.No. 33019 of 2023 dated 22.11.2023.

2. Learned Additional Advocate General appearing on behalf of the respondents would submit that in pursuance to the orders of this Court dated 22.11.2023 in W.P.No.33019 of 2023, encroachers are identified and the petitioner was also identified as an encroacher. Thereafter, notice under Section 7 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905 (for brevity, hereinafter referred to as 'Act') was issued. After affording opportunity to the parties, final order under Section 6 of the Act was passed. Thereafter, possession was taken by the Government and was handed over to Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) for development of railway projects.

3. This being the factum, no adjudication is required. Accordingly, the contempt petition is closed. No costs.
