Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of certiorarified mandamus, calling for the records relating to the proceedings of the second respondent herein dated 06.06.2024 in Na.Ka.No.08/2024/A4 quash the same insofar as it relates to the petitioner and the respondents 3 to 6 herein and consequently direct the respondents 1 and 2 herein to refix the seniority by placing the petitioner above the respondents 3 to 6 in the aforesaid impugned proceedings as maintained in the Annexure VI-B issued by the District Collector, Kancheepuram with his proceedings in Rc.19878/2019/A7 dated 26.11.2019.

ORDER

The writ petition challenges the order dated 06.06.2024.

2. On a perusal of the impugned order, it can be seen that it is only a tentative seniority list, circulated to the employees inviting objections within a period of seven days. As a matter of fact, it can be seen that the petitioner has submitted his objection on 10.06.2024.

3. Mr.G.Velu, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of respondents 1 and 2.

4. In view of the nature of the orders passed, the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself.

5. Since the order impugned in this writ petition is only a tentative seniority list, inviting objections from the employees and the petitioner has already made his objection, no writ petition can be entertained as against the said tentative seniority list.

6. In view thereof, this writ petition stands disposed of on the following terms:

(i) the petitioner has already filed his objection dated 10.06.2024 with reference to the impugned tentative seniority list dated 06.06.2024. The official respondents shall consider the said objection, on its own merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, in any event, not later than six weeks from the date of a copy of this order and pass final orders thereon.

There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.16676 of 2024 is also closed.
