The petitioner made an application dated 27.1.2015 to the 1st respondent seeking issuance of patta on 27.1.2015 in respect of plot No.64 in Survey No.57/1A part and 1 B part of 5, Padi village, Ambattur Taluk, Chennai, based upon a sale deed dated 28.4.1992 executed in favour of the 1st petitioner's father followed by a settlement deed dated 10.12.2012 executed in favour of the petitioners. As the said application has been pending consideration before the 1st respondent, inspite of the fact that it was followed by the letter dated 8.6.2015 sent by the petitioners, the present writ petition has been filed.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

Considering the facts of the case, without going into the merits of the case, the 1st respondent is directed to consider the application of the petitioner dated 27.1.2015 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The 1st respondent, before passing orders on the said application, shall afford an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and the third parties, if any.
