Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1, 2 and 5 respondents herein to grant permission and protection to conduct "Eruthu Vidum Vizha" (Jallikattu Festival) in the 1st week of May, 2025 particularly on 03.05.2025 at 8.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M. or any other day at Survey No.387/13, Patta No.1136 in Poosarioor Hamlet, Attur Kuppam Revenue Village Panchayat located at Jangalurpuram Post, Natrampalli Taluk, in Thekkuppattur Village & Post situated in Natrampalli Taluk, Thiruppattur District by considering petitioner's last representation, dated 22.03.2025. ORDER
This Writ Petition is filed for a direction to the respondent Nos.1, 2 and 5 to grant permission and protection to conduct Eruthu Vidum Vizha (Jallikattu festival) in the first week of May, 2025 particularly on 03.05.2025 between 8.00 A.M to 5.00 P.M in survey No.387/13 at Poosarioor Hamlet, Attur Kuppam revenue village panchayat located at Jangalurpuram post, Natrampalli taluk in Thekkuppattur village and post situated in Natrampalli taluk, Thiruppattur district by considering petitioner's last representation, dated 22.03.2025.
2. When the matter is taken up for admission, the learned Additional Government Pleader, taking notice on behalf of the respondent Nos.1, 2, 4 and 5, would submit that as a matter of fact, the request of the petitioner is under process and orders will be passed as expeditiously as possible. He would also produce the written instructions, whereunder, it has been said 3/7
that the Revenue Divisional Officer, Thiruppattur taluk has already made a recommendation and has placed before the District Collector, Thiruppattur district and the same is now forwarded to the Government for their permission.
3. Therefore, let the application be processed as expeditiously as possible and the result shall be informed to the petitioner. Since the festival is scheduled to be conducted in the first week of May, 2025, the authorities shall act as expeditiously as possible. The parties shall act upon a web-copy of this order without waiting for a certified copy of this order.
4. This Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.
