Prayer: Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 11.06.2025 and consequently, to grant permission for demolition of the building in respect of the property with building situated at D.No.20/1, 100 feet Bye Pass Road, Velacherry, Chennai-600 042 and to issue planning permission to construct a new building as per the plan submitted. This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 11.06.2025 and grant permission for demolition of the building in respect of the property with building situated at D.No.20/1, 100 feet Bye Pass Road, Velacherry, Chennai, and issue planning permission to construct a new building as per the plan submitted.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is the absolute owner of the property with the building situated at Door No.20/1, 100 feet bye pass Road, Velacherry, Chennai and the petitioner purchased the said property on 10.12.2024 under registered sale deed vide Document No.8047 of 2024. The petitioner wishes to demolish the existing old building and construct a commercial building and he submitted an application for demolition and fresh building plan approval on 11.06.2025 by paying necessary charges to the respondent. Since the application has not yet been considered, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if the respondent is directed to consider the application of the petitioner

dated 11.06.2025 on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.

4. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the respondent.

5. In view of the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the application of the petitioner dated 11.06.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
