Therefore, the District Revenue Officer, Erode District, initiated proceedings under Section 145 Cr.P.C. and issued notice to the petitioner and the respondent Nos.2 to 5. After considering the evidence adduced by them and hearing them, the District Revenue Officer, by order dated 03.01.2014, has given a finding that the respondent Nos.2 to 5 are in possession of the land and that the petitioner should not disturb their possession. However, he has not given any finding with regard to the title to the property and has left that to be decided by the competent civil Court.

Now, more than five years have passed from the date of the order, passed by the District Revenue Officer and hence, no useful purpose will be served by keeping this revision case pending.
In the result, this Criminal Revision Case is closed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. Closure of this revision case will not be a bar for the Revenue authorities to initiate fresh action under Section 145 Cr.P.C., if there is any breach of peace.
