ORDER

The instant writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.02.2025 seeking compassionate appointment.

Learned Counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's father served as Second Grade Constable in the Central Prison, Coimbatore and while he was in service, he died on 15.09.2008. Thereafter, the petitioner has submitted an application seeking compassionate ground appointment on 30.08.2010. Since the petitioner was not considered for compassionate appointment for all these years, he has given representation on 17.02.2025.

At this Juncture, Mr.G.Nanmaran, learned Special Government Pleader who takes notice for the respondents 1 to 3 would invite the attention of this Court about the letter of the Prisons and Correctional Services Department dated 03.03.2023, wherein the petitioner's seniority for the appointment on compassionate ground was at Sl.No.60 and in the seniority list maintained by the District Collector, his seniority was at Sl.No.33. It is

the submission of the learned Special Government Pleader that as and when the petitioner reaches seniority, they would appoint him under compassionate grounds.
