(MD)No.19771 of 2018 N.SATHISH KUMAR, J., & D.BHARATHA CHAKRAVARTHY, J., This relates to working of Artificial Intelligence based Surveillance System in the Madukkarai forest range of Coimbatore Forest Division.

2. Today, a communication of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Chief Wildlife Warden (FAC) dated 07.11.2024 is placed before this Court. It is submitted that the surveillance system is working well and a total number of 860 incidents of elephant-stray, spill out from the reserved forests in the concerned area has been detected by the surveillance system and appropriate alerts have been issued in respect thereof. It is also stated that in view of the system working well, the accidents are averted wholly and there is no incident reported in the division. The said statement is recorded.
