The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 29.05.2024 for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(aaa) 4(1-A) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, in Crime No.166 of 2024 on the file of the respondent Police, seeks bail.

2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the petitioner is in custody from 29.05.2024 and he is also ready to abide by any stringent conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed to grant bail to the petitioner.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police raised objection stating that there are totally three accused in this case and the petitioner is ranked as A3. He further submitted that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 800 liters of Pondy Arrack. He further submitted that the petitioner has 32 previous cases pending against him, and further, Goondas proposal is also pending against him. He also submitted that the investigation is at initial stage.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of this case and the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) that the goondas proposal is also pending against the petitioner and also considering the antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
