ORDER

The petitioners, who were arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 22.04.2025 for the alleged offence under Section 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(C), 29(1) and 25 of NDPS Act in CC.No.936 of 2025 on the file of the I Additional Special Judge, NDPS Act, Chenni in Crime No.244 of 2025 on the file of the

respondent police, seek bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioners were found in possession of 300 kgs of ganja. Hence, the case.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioner have been incarcerated for more than one year. He further submitted that investigation has been completed. He further submitted that the petitioners are ready to abide by any stringent conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays for grant of bail to the Petitioners.

4. Per contra, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the Respondent Police reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that this is a case of recovery of huge quantity of contraband. Hence, he opposed the grant of bail to the Petitioners.

5. I have given my anxious consideration to either side submissions and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case; taking note of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), as rightly contended by the learned Government counsel (Criminal Side), it is a case

involving huge quantity of contraband. Accordingly, considering the totality of the circumstances, this Court could not find any material to overcome the rigour under section 37 of NDPS Act. Hence, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

7. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 23-06-2026 SHL To:
