Prayer :- Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to initiate proceedings upon the appeal filed by the petitioners dated 23.07.2021 as per the Registration Act and pass appropriate order or orders thereupon on the appeal.

The relief sought in the present writ petition is to direct the first respondent to initiate the proceedings upon the appeal filed by the petitioners dated 23.07.2021 as per the Registration Act and dispose of the same.
2.The grievances of the writ petitioners are that the document presented by them were registered and the Sub-Registrar asked the petitioners to pay the deficit stamp duty. The explanations given by the petitioners were not considered by the Sub-Registrar and the appeal was filed by the petitioners before the Inspector General of Registration under 2/4
Section 47(A) of the Registration Act. The statutory appeals preferred by the aggrieved persons are to be disposed of as expeditiously as possible based on the seniority of appeals preferred by the respective appellants. 3.In the present case, the petitioners preferred appeal on 23.07.2021 and almost two years are over and therefore, the first respondent is directed to take the appeal proceedings for enquiry and dispose of the same as expeditiously as possible by following the procedures and by affording opportunities to all the parties as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.With the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed of.
