[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J] This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to produce the detenue Selvarani D/o.Selvaraj, aged about 20 years, before this Court and set her at liberty.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that her daughter Selvarani went missing from 28.07.2021. In this connection, the petitioner has given a complaint to the respondents. It is the grievance of the petitioner that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her daughter.

3. On instructions, learned Government Advocate [crl.side] submits that based on the complaint of the petitioner, a case in Kunnam P.S.Crime No.655 of 2021 has been registered for 'woman missing' and investigation is in progress.

4. In view of the above, we direct the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mangalamedu, to monitor the investigation in Kunnam P.S.Crime No.655 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue is secured, she shall be produced before the learned District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Kunnam, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders.

With the above direction, this Habeas Corpus Petition is disposed of.
