Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to provide electricity supply connection t the petitioner's residential house at No.638/A, Meersha Hussaini Nagar, Vengunam, Vansavasi, Thiruvannamalai District, after receiving necessary charges from the petitioner for the same based on the petitioner's representation dated 12.04.2019.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he is occupying the land belonging to Syed Meersha Ussaini Avuliya Dharka at Thiruvannamalai District. He sought for residential electricity connection to his residence along with NOC given by the landlord/Dharka as well as certificate from the VAO, Vengunam village, despite that, the request of the petitioner has not been considered by the respondents.

3. The representation dated 12.04.2019 indicates that the petitioner has submitted all the requested documents including NOC from the landlord and the certificate from the VAO. In such circumstances, the respondents ought to have considered the representation and if necessary should have obtained indemnity bond as contemplated under Rule 27(4) of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Distribution Code and process the application. For the reason best known, till date they have not considered the request.

In such circumstances, the respondent herein is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 12.04.2019 seeking domestic electricity connection to the premises at No.638/A, Meersha Hussaini Nagar, Vengunam, Vandavasi, Thiruvannamalai District, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
