By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up and disposed of at the admission stage itself.
2. This Writ Petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 25.01.2016.
3. The petitioner entered into service as Sweeper, on 06.08.1991. The grievance of the petitioner is that inspite of
several Government Orders passed to the effect that those working prior to 1999 as Temporary Workers can be made permanent, the petitioner's representation, dated 25.01.2016, seeking to confer the benefit as per G.O.Ms.No.22, Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, dated 28.02.2006 and G.O.Ms.No.74, Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, dated 27.06.2013, was not considered so far and hence, the present Writ Petition.
4. Mr.G.Surya Narayanan, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner would be satisfied, if the 2nd respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 25.01.2016.
5. Mr.A.Raja Perumal, the learned Government Advocate, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents, has got no serious objection in directing the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 25.01.2016 and to pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law.
6. Considering the above submissions, this Court, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 25.01.2016, and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion with regard to the merits of the claim made by the petitioner.
