Respondents Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider and include the petitioner's name for promotion as Deputy Commercial Tax Officer for the panel 20162017 in the light of the proposals and the representations dated 16.08.2017.

O R D E R

At the hearing, learned counsel for the writ petitioner abridges the prayer in the writ petition and says that he will be satisfied, if the representation dated 16.08.2017, given by the writ petitioner to respondent No.2, is disposed within a time frame fixed by this Court. Prayer is now restricted in the above manner.

2. Mr.M.Hariharan, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of both the respondents.

3. In the light of abridged/restricted prayer, the prayer as it reads now is innocuous.

4. In the light of the innocuous nature of the prayer, there shall be a direction to respondent No.2 to dispose of the representation dated 16.08.2017 given by the writ petitioner. Disposal of the representation dated 16.08.2017 shall be done by respondent No.2, within a time frame of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The disposal shall be in accordance with law.

5. Respondent No.2 shall communicate the order of such disposal of the aforesaid representation to the writ petitioner within five working days from the date of disposal of the representation.

6. The writ petition is disposed of on above terms. No costs.
