Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.P.R.Dhilipkumar, learned Standing counsel who took notice for the respondent and with their consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for disposal.
2.The writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a direction to the respondent to give Electricity Supply to the petitioner's property measuring 7 grounds and 319 sq.ft. bearing Old Door No.370/371, then Door No.186/187, New Door No.611, Thiruvottiyur High Road, Chennai 81.
3. The petitioner, after purchasing the property in question on 25.04.2013, has been in possession and enjoyment of the same. According to the petitioner, he has kept a watchman for security and safety purposes, who has been given accommodation to live with his family in the said property. There is no electricity supply to the property. Hence, an application dated 14.02.2015 has been sent to the respondent by https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
registered post, by enclosing copy of the sale deed, which was duly received and acknowledged by the respondent. However, till date, electricity service connection has not been given. According to the petitioner, the respondent has not even sent a reply to him. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court. 4.
Since the application of the petitioner dated 14.02.2015, which was duly received and acknowledged by the respondent is pending consideration, without going into the merits of the case, the respondent is directed to consider the application of the petitioner dated 14.02.2015 for the grant of electricity service connection to the property in question and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording due opportunity to the petitioner. The writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
