Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.10.2015 for th e grant of Family Security Fund of Rs.50,000/- on the death of the petitioner's wife (Pensioner viz., P.Rukmani).

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. According to the petitioner, his wife late Mrs.P.Rukmani, after serving as Tamil Pandit for about 33 years, retired on 31.05.2006 and she died on 23.11.2006. As per G.O.Ms.No.416, Finance (PC) Department, dated 18.11.2010, the petitioner is entitled for payment of Rs.50,000/- towards Family Security Fund. Since the said amount was not paid, he made a representation dated 17.10.2015 to the respondents seeking Family Security Fund of Rs.50,000/-, which is not considered by them and hence, the present writ petition.

3. Heard the submission of Mr.R.Sreedharan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.V.Vijay Shankar, learned counsel appearing for the first respondent and Mr.S.Gunasekaran, learned Government Advocate appearing for the second respondent.

4. This Court considering the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.10.2015 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken by him to the petitioner.
