O R D E R
This Criminal Original Petition is filed to direct the respondents to conduct a free and fair investigation and file a status report on the suspicious death of the petitioner's father in Crime No.226 of 2017 in accordance with law.
2. On the suspicious death of the petitioner's father, an enquiry was commenced under Section 174 of Criminal Procedure Code in Crime No.226 of 2017. Since there was no much progress https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
in the enquiry, the present petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to conduct a free and fair investigation.
3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor relied upon the status report filed by them dated 24.09.2019 and submitted that the investigation has been done in a fair manner and final report will be filed before the concerned court at the earliest. In my view, if the second respondent/ police is directed to complete the enquiry within a stipulated time, the ends of justice would be secured.
4. In the light of the above observations, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to complete the enquiry commenced under Section 174 of Criminal Procedure Code, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above observations, the Criminal Original Petition stands closed.
