ORDER

By consent, the writ petitions are taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioners would state that they entered into service as Grade II Police Constable in the year 1993 and they were directed to report duty in Avadi, Chennai on 25.10.1993. After completion of institutional training and after serving sometime in TSP, they were transferred and posted in Chennai city Armed Reserve in the year 1998.

Thereafter, the petitioners were promoted as Head Constable in the year 2005 and they have no adverse remarks.

3. The grievance of the petitioners is that their juniors, who were recruited in the subsequent selection in the years 1994, 1995 and 1997 were promoted as Sub-Inspector of Police (Armed Reserve) in Villupuram, Cuddalore, Vellore, Salem, Namakkal, Trichy, Thiruvallur and other districts and their salary was fixed in the scale of Sub-Inspector of Police. But, the petitioners are still working as Head Constable and therefore, they made a representation dated 31.08.2015 to the respondent, which was not considered. Hence, the present writ petition.

4. Heard the submission of Mr.Mr.P.Venkatraman, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.N.Srinivasan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

5. This Court considering the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioners and without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioners' representation dated 31.08.2015 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken by him to the petitioner.

6. These writ petitions are disposed of accordingly. No costs.
