O R D E R
The petitioners have come forward with the above two Writ petitions seeking to issue Writs of Mandamus to direct the respondents to fix the seniority on par with the first batch based on the marks secured by the petitioners in the police training college as per Rule by considering the representations of the petitioners dated 11.12.2017 and 04.01.2018 respectively within a reasonable time.
2. It is represented by the learned counsel for the petitioners that in similar matter, the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court in W.P(MD)No.3087 to 3089 of 2018 by order dated 15.02.2018, has directed the second respondent to pass orders on the above said representations of the petitioners within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
3. Without going into the merits of the matter, and taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for in these Writ Petitions, the second respondent is directed to consider the said representations of the petitioners, dated 11.12.2017 and 04.01.2018 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners and also the others if any who are interested and likely to be affected and if there is no legal impediment in considering the said representations.
4. With above observations and directions, the Writ petitions are disposed of. No costs.
