Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to finalise disciplinary proceedings after affording reasonable opportunity to the petitioner in accordance with Rules.

ORDER

The innocuous prayer made in the present writ petition is that there is a disciplinary proceedings pending against the petitioner by virtue of the charge memorandum dated 29.11.2015 and even though the enquiry is over, it is only kept pending for passing final orders.

2. When the matter came up for admission today, Mr.S.Balamurugan, learned Government Advocate, taking notice on behalf of the respondents, would submit that the respondent would pass final orders within the time that may be fixed by this Court.

3. In view thereof, the respondents are directed to finalize the disciplinary proceedings and pass final orders, in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. The writ petition, accordingly, stands allowed. There shall be no order as to costs.
