ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by S.S.SUNDAR, J.,] (1)Ms.K.Aswini Devi, learned Standing counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

(2)The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to grant license for erecting a hoarding by considering the application submitted by the petitioner on 10.10.2023.

(3)The petitioner is carrying on a business in outdoor advertising industry. The petitioner states that he has undertaken a project to erect a hoarding. An application was filed by the petitioner before the respondents to grant license to erect a hoarding on the terrace floor of a private building. The case of the petitioner is that despite the application was submitted to the respondents on 10.10.2023, the same is not disposed of on merits. (4)The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner will be satisfied if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the

application on merits and in accordance with law within a stipulated period to be fixed by this Court.

(5)Considering the grievance of the petitioner and the facts stated in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the respondents to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application dated 10.10.2023 on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner herein.
