This contempt petition has been filed seeking to punish the respondent for the wilful disobedience of the order dated 05.12.2013 passed by this Court in Crl.O.P.No.31545 of 2013.

In Crl.O.P.No.31545 of 2013, this Court passed the following order on 05.12.2013:

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the respondent is directed to consider the complaint of the petitioner dated 21.10.2013 and investigate the same in accordance with law.

This Criminal Original Petition is disposed of accordingly."

Alleging non-compliance of the above order, this contempt petition has been preferred by the petitioner. 4.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, Mrs.P.Kritika Kamal, learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that the dispute in question is a matrimonial dispute between the petitioner and her husband. She further submitted that on the complaint given by the petitioner, the 2/3

parties were referred to the Social Welfare Officer under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. It is her further submission that the police have received a report from the Protection Officer and thereafter, when the police called the parties for enquiry, they did not appear. In such view of the matter, this contempt petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to work out her remedy in the manner known to law.
