ORDER

This Contempt Petition has been filed to punish the respondent for non compliance of the order dated 26.02.2024 passed by this Court in W.P.No.4602 of 2024 thereby directing the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law.

The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that as directed by this Court, by the communication dated 26.06.2024, the respondent was addressed to issue necessary order for the petitioner's temporary promotion to the post of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Armed Reserve). That apart, even before the issuance of direction by this Court, there was a recommendation by the Director General of Police by his proceeding dated 13.11.2023, thereby recommending temporary promotion to the petitioner as per Section 47(1) of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016.

In view of the above submission, the respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders based on the recommendation issued by the Director General of Police, Chennai, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.
