This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondent Nos.1 to 3, to allow the petitioner's Jamath, to conduct Eid (Bakrid) Special prayer, at Rock Breach in front of Gandhi Statue, Puducherry, on 10/7/2022, by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 16/6/2022.

2. Heard Mr.S.M.A.Jinnah, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.V.Balamurugane, learned Public Prosecutor (Pondy) for the respondents 1 to 3.

3. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, Mr.V.Balamurugane, learned Public Prosecutor (Pondy) submitted that rival group is also planning the Eid (Bakrid) special prayer at the same time. Despite the advise given by the Superintendent of Police, both parties have not come with any settlement/agreement.

4. In such a view of the matter, it is for the Superintendent of Police, Puducherry, to take a call and taking into the ground reality, directed to pass an order, on merits and in accordance with law.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. 7/7/2022 Index : Yes / No Internet: Yes Speaking/non speaking order mvs.
