O R D E R
This writ petition has been filed directing the respondents to provide electricity connection (domestic purpose) to the petitioner's premises viz. Plot No.66, Ist Main Road, Bharath Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Kolathur, Chennai 600 099, based on his application dated 08.04.2019 2.The case of the petitioner is that, the petitioner's mother purchased the subject property by way of sale deed on
17.09.1996 thereafter the petitioner's mother was paying taxes to the competent authority. The father of the petitioner obtained water connection and sewerage connection in the above said property. Thereafter on 08.04.2019 the petitioner submitted an application for grant of electricity connection. However, the respondent did not even receive the application. Hence, the present writ petition is filed.
3.Mr.S.P.Sudalaiyandi, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that, this Court may issue a direction to the 2nd respondent to receive the application with all the necessary documents. After receipt of the application, if the application is in order, the respondent electricity board will effect the service connection in favour of the Board. 4.Mr.Jai Venkatesh, learned Standing Counsel for Electricity Board appearing for the respondents submits that, if the application is filed with all the necessary documents, then the application of service connection will be considered in accordance with the Board regulations.
5. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for respondents and perused the materials placed on record.
6. Considering the facts and Circumstances of the case and taking note of the submissions of the learned Counsel on either side, this Court directs the petitioner to submit the application along with all the necessary documents including the proof of the property. If such application is filed, the 2nd Respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of 8 weeks from the date of copy of this Order.
6.With the above observations, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
