ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus Directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.01.2026 (resent on 09.04.2026 and received on 13.04.2026) and pass appropriate orders for posting the petitioner at Thannerpanthal, Coimbatore District or any nearby station within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he is serving as an Assistant Executive Engineer in TANGEDCO and has maintained an unblemished service record since 1997. While working at Kinathukadavu, Coimbatore District, from 04.10.2019, he faced genuine family difficulties and submitted a representation dated 05.01.2026 seeking transfer to a nearby station.

3. Pursuant to the said request, the petitioner was transferred to Bazaar West Section on 23.01.2026 and joined duty. However, within a short period, he was reposted to his original station on 18.02.2026 on administrative grounds. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted a fresh representation dated 09.04.2026

(received on 13.04.2026) requesting posting at Thanneerpanthal or any other nearby station.

4. According to the petitioner, despite receipt of the representation, the respondents have not passed any orders thereon. Aggrieved by the inaction of the authorities and having no other efficacious remedy, the petitioner has approached the Court seeking a direction to the respondents to consider and dispose of his representation within a stipulated time frame in accordance with law.

5. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for both sides, this Court directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.01.2026 (resent on 09.04.2026) requesting a posting at Thanneerpanthal or any other nearby station and pass appropriate orders thereon, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
