ORDER

The petitioner has come forward with the above Writ Petition praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent herein, namely The District Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Coimbatore Division, Coimbatore, to consider and pass a reasoned and speaking order on the Revision Petition, dated 20.01.2018 submitted by the petitioner under Section 153 of the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies Act, within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

2. It is submitted by the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents that there is no such nomenclature of the post of the District Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Societies (first respondent herein) before whom the said revision petition is said to have been filed.

3. Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in this Writ Petition, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the competent authority to deal with the above revision petition, if the said revision petition is still pending. The petitioner shall file a copy of the revision petition before the competent authority in a prescribed format by paying necessary fees, if any, as per the said Act. If the said revision petition already filed is within time, the same shall be disposed of by the competent authority, on merits and in accordance with law, by passing a reasoned and speaking order. The said competent authority is expected to dispose of the said revision petition expeditiously, preferably within three months from the date of production of a copy of this order by the petitioner herein and after hearing the petitioner and others, if any, who are likely to be affected and if there is no legal impediment in considering the said revision petition.

4. With the above observations and directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
