Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to grant solatium amount of Rs.50,00,000/- (Rupees fifty lakhs only) and provide employment to the petitioner's son in any Government undertaking on compassionate ground.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction directing the respondents 1 to 4 to grant solatium and to also to provide employment to the petitioner's son on compassionate ground.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that, the petitioner's husband one Namasivayam suffered a fatal injury when he tried to put up arch during the celebration of golden jubilee function for Salt Satyagraha.

Hence, the petitioner made a representation to pay compensation or to give an appointment on compassionate ground to their son.

3. Earlier, this Court by an order dated 22.01.2019 based on the undertaking given by learned Special Government Pleader that the appointment would be given to petitioner's son, directed the respondents 1 and 2 to appoint petitioner's son as Office Assistant in the Collectorate of Nagapattinam. Pursuant to the order, the petitioner's son was appointed as Office Assistant on temporary basis. However, learned counsel appearing for petitioner has raised an objection stating that, as per the undertaking given by the Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of respondents Government, the petitioner's son should be appointed on permanent basis not on temporary basis. Hence, this Court earlier directed the respondents to appoint the petitioner's son on permanent basis.

Today, when the matter taken up for hearing, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents would submit that, the petitioner's son was appointed as Office Assistant on permanent basis with effect from 15.03.2022 and also produced the copy of order. The learned counsel appearing for petitioner has also satisfied with the same.

5. Heard and considered rival submissions made by learned counsel appearing for both sides and perused the records carefully.

6. Considering the fact that, the appointment was made on permanent basis to the petitioner's son, no further adjudication is required in this Writ Petition. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
