This petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking suspension of his sentence of imprisonment.

2. The petitioner/A1 faced trial in C.C.No.02 of 2011 on the file of the Special Judge, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Dhrarmapuri and the trial Court, by a judgment dated 07.06.2017, convicted the petitioner as detailed below : Conviction Sentence under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act One year simple imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs.2000/- in default to undergo simple imprisonment for three months Section 13(2) r/w. 13(1)(d) and (d) of Prevention of Corruption Act One year rigorous imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs.2000/- in default to undergo simple imprisonment for three months

3. Challenging the same, the present appeal has been filed along with this petition for suspension of sentence.

6. Taking into consideration of the submission of the learned counsels appearing on both sides, since there are some arguable points available in the appeal, I am inclined to suspend the substantive sentence of imprisonment alone.

7. Accordingly, pending appeal, substantive sentence of imprisonment alone is suspended and the petitioner is released on bail on his executing a bond for a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) with two sureties each for a like sum to the satisfaction of the Special Judge, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Dhrarmapuri with further condition that he shall appear before the said court on the first working day of every month at 10.30 a.m., until further orders.
