The petitioner seeks direction upon the respondent to register a case on his complaint, dated 18.03.2015, and to investigate the same in accordance with law.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for petitioner. 3.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent/Police submitted that the complaint, dated 18.03.2015, which given by the petitioner against her husband and in-laws was referred to Social Welfare Officer, Vellore and the report from the said Official is awaited. As and when report is received from the said Official, the respondent/Police will take action in accordance with law.

In view of the above submission, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of by directing the respondent/Police to act in accordance with law after the receipt of report from the Social Welfare Officer, Vellore, by registering a case, if cognizable https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

offence is made out, by following the dictum laid down by the Hon'ble Apex Court in re Lalita Kumari vs. Govt. of U.P. & others reported in [2013 (4) Crimes 243 (SC).
