ORDER
The writ petition has been filed directing the respondents 1, 2 and 3 to consider the representation dated 16.04.2026 and to give permission to conduct the yearly Temple festival (Thiruvizha) and the orchestra program on the 1st day of May month for this year 2026 for Shree Chelliamman Temple, situated at Kudiyana Street, Karukudi, Inamkiliyur, Moolalvancheri, Valangaiman, 2.The petitioner had sent a representation on 16.04.2026 seeking permission to conduct the temple festival in Shree Chelliamman Temple, situated at Kudiyana Street, Karukudi, Inamkiliyur, Moolalvancheri, Valangaiman, Thiruvarur District on the 1st day of May, 2026. Further, they have also planned to hold celebrations on the following evening. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that petitioner's representation was received and due to the general election, police force could not be diverted. Hence, the function can be conducted after completion of election process.
4.On enquiry, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the temple festival has been conducted in the previous years and there is no rival group or any objection from any one. As long as the festival is conducted in an inclusive manner without any objection and discrimination, the same can be conducted in a peaceful manner and celebrations can also be held without any law and order issue. The petitioner to ensure that there is no untoward incident happens in view of the celebrations. The third respondent is directed to give adequate police protection for the temple festival scheduled to be held on 1st May, 2026.
