By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2.The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to issue Patta in the name of the petitioner in respect of the property comprised in Old S.No.238/1A1A1A1, New S.No.923/14 measuring an extent of 238 sq. meters, situated at Ward No.I, Tirukoilur, Kallakurichi District within a stipulated period of time. 3.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioners had made representation dated 27.12.2024 before the respondents seeking patta for the above mentioned property. However, the said representations were not considered so far by respondents. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has come before this Court. 2/6

At the outset, it is submitted by the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents that the Revenue Divisional Officer had directed the Tahsildar to conduct an enquiry and submit a report. On receipt of such report, the Revenue Divisional Officer would consider and pass appropriate orders within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.
5.In view of the same, taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the 2nd respondent, to consider the case on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties/rival claimants, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the case on its own merits and in accordance with law. 3/6
