Common Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 02.01.2015 seeking regularisation of service with effect from 02.01.2002 and 01.11.2002 respectively in accordance with law. By consent, both the writ petitions are taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. According to the petitioners, they were appointed as substitute sweepers in the 2nd respondent's Corporation in the year 1992 through District Employment Office. It is further alleged that the 2nd respondent has regularised the services of 111 substitute sanitary workers out of 229 workers. As per G.O.No.1644 Rural Development and Local Administration Department dated 12.10.1979, the petitioners are entitled for regularisation of services after completion of ten years. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Therefore, the petitioners made representations on 02.01.2015 to the respondents seeking regularisation of their services from 01.11.2002 and and the 2nd respondent has sent a reply on 19.01.2015 that the representation of the petitioners are under consideration for regularisation of the services but subsequently, no order has been passed so far. Hence, these writ petitions.
3. Heard Mr.R.Sethuvarayar, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr.S.Gunasekaran, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.
4. This Court, taking into consideration the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the case, directs the 2nd respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioners' representation dated 02.01.2015, on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioners.
5. The writ petitions are disposed of accordingly. No costs.
