This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a direction directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's application for renewal of counter signature of interstate permit for the period from 01.10.2016 to 30.09.2021.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he is operating interstate stage carriage, on the route between Bangalore to Hosur. The permit was granted by the transport authority of Karnataka and renewed from time to time. The respondent herein has to grant proper counter signature for the route lying in the State of Tamil Nadu, for the period of 5 years commencing from 01.10.2016 to 30.09.2021. The petitioner has made application to the respondent on 12.09.2016 for the counter signature of permit, but, so far, his application was not considered by the respondent. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.

3. Today, Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, learned counsel for the respondent submitted that earlier, the petitioner has submitted an application dated 12.09.2016 seeking for temporary renewal, but that application is not traceable. Hence, he may be directed to file a fresh application.
4. Considering the above submissions, the petitioner is directed to file a copy of the application dated 12.09.2016, to the respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of copy of the receipt of the order and on filing such application, the respondent is directed to consider the same and pass suitable orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
