ORDER
This Writ Petition is filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the Respondent to issue an appointment order to the Petitioner as selected by them for the post of Assistant in Rural and Panchayat Raj Department in the Tamil Nadu Ministerial Service.
2. This court heard the learned counsel on either side and also perused the materials placed on record.

It is brought to the notice of this by the learned counsel for the Respondent that by virtue of the resolution of the Equivalence Committee dated 28.1.2016, based on the letter of the Indira Gandhi Open University, it was resolved that B.E. Degree obtained through the distance education mode is not equivalent to the B.E. Degree obtained in the regular mode and therefore, the Petitioner, who has got the said degree through distance education, is not eligible and hence, this Writ Petition is not maintainable.
4. Recording the above said submission of the learned counsel for the Respondent, in view of the fact that https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
since as per the resolution of the Equivalence Committee, dated 28.1.2016, it was decided that the B.E. Degree obtained in distance education is not equivalent to the B.E Degree acquired through regular mode, the Petitioner, who acquired the said degree by distance education mode, is not eligible and hence, at this stage, the right of the Petitioner cannot be agitated. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
