Respondents Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issue of writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to consider the representations dated 29.07.2015 and 29.10.2015 for the settlement of all the retirement and other monetary benefits due to petitioner. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as a clerk in the Water Supply Department of erstwhile Salem Municipality on 08.11.1979 which was subsequently upgraded as Corporation in the year 1994. He retired as Tax Collector (Bill Collector) on attaining the age of superannuation on 30.06.2015.
3. The claim of the petitioner is that inspite of permitting him to retire from the services, the second respondent has not settled the entire retirement benefits to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
him. Hence, he made representations to the respondents on 29.07.2015 and 29.10.2015 seeking for settlement of all the retirement and other monetary benefits due to him. Since no order has been passed so far, the present writ petition.
4. Heard Mr.S.Kamadevan, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.N.Srinivasan, learned Additional Government Pleader for the first respondent and Ms.K.Bhuvaneswari, learned counsel for the second respondent.
5. This Court, taking into consideration the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the case, directs the 2nd respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representations dated 29.07.2015 and 29.10.2015, on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders, within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
