This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking writ of mandamus directing the 2nd respondent herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18/03/2026 regarding Family Pension and terminal benefits in the light the orders passed by the 1st respondent herein in G.O.(D).No.609 Municipal Administration and Water Supplies (MC 3) Department dated 17/10/2025 and consider the case of the petitioner for compassionate appointment due to the demise of her husband Lakshmanan. ORDER
This writ petition is filed for the following relief: "To direct the 2nd respondent herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18/03/2026 regarding Family Pension and terminal benefits in the light the orders passed by the 1st respondent herein in G.O.(D).No.609 Municipal Administration and Water Supplies (MC 3) Department dated 17/10/2025 and consider the case of the petitioner for compassionate appointment due to the demise of her husband Lakshmanan."
2. The petitioner's husband was working as a Sanitary Worker and died while in service during Covid - 19 pandemic on 23.01.2022. The petitioner had made an application dated 18.03.2026, seeking disbursement of terminal benefits and compassionate appointment. Since there is no response the petitioner is before this Court.
3. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the fact that the petitioner's representation dated 18.03.2026 has not been considered till date, the 2nd respondent is directed to consider the same and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 6 weeks from the date of
receipt of a copy of this order.
