Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to provide police protection to men and materials in the petitioner's factory against any act of violence or illegal acts of the members of the 2nd respondent Union or its agents or persons claiming under them. ORDER

The writ petition has been filed to direct the 1st respondent to provide police protection to men and materials in the petitioner's factory against any act of violence or illegal acts of the members of the 2nd respondent Union or its agents or persons claiming under them.

On perusal of records, it is seen that the petitioner seeks direction to the 1st respondent to put provide police protection to their factory men and materials alleging the illegal activities of their workmen. Now, almost one year has been lapsed and hence, due to the lapse of period, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted now. However, the petitioner is at liberty to file a fresh petition, on fresh cause of action, if so advised.

With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
