By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up and disposed of at the admission stage itself.

2. This Writ Petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to sanction the housing loan to the petitioner by considering his application, dated 29.09.2015.

3. The petitioner entered into service as Assistant Engineer (O&M) in the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited. The grievance of the petitioner is that though, he has submitted an application to the 2nd respondent, on 29.09.2015,

requesting to sanction housing loan for purchase of land and house situated at Plot No.3, MGR Street, Melmadai Village, till date, he was not sanctioned the housing loan. In this regard, the petitioner has sent a reminder, on 15.06.2016, to the 2nd respondent, but, there was no response and hence, he has filed the present Writ Petition.

4. Mr.K.Sasindran, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner would be satisfied, if the 2nd respondent is directed to consider the application of the petitioner, dated 29.09.2015, and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law.

5. Ms.R.Varalakshmi, the learned Standing Counsel, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents, has got no serious objection in directing the 2nd respondent to consider the application of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law.

6. Considering the above submissions, this Court, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the application of the petitioner, dated 29.09.2015 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion with regard to the merits of the claim made by the petitioner.
