Order This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.05.2023 and conduct a fair Election for the management committee as per the Proforma of the Waqf and appoint an Ad-hoc Committee to take over the direct management of Jamia Masjid Batri, Royapettah.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the Jamia Masjid Batri, is a historical mosque and it should be managed as per the official proforma of the Waqf. However, contrary to the registered Proforma, administration has been held by a self-appointed group for over 30 years and there is complete lack of accountability of the income of the said Waqf. Hence, the petitioner along with other members, submitted a formal representation dated 22.05.2023 to the 1st respondent. Since no steps have been taken on the said representation, the petitioner is before this Court by filing this writ petition.

3. In reply, the learned counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 22.05.2023 will be disposed of by the respondents, within a period of eight weeks, once the Waqf Board resumes its duties.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned counsel for the respondents and also perused the materials available on record.

5. In view of the above, the respondents Board, upon resuming its duties, is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.05.2023 on its own merits and dispose of the same in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
