Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the II Additional Labour Court, Chennai to dispose of the Complaint No.1 of 2021, on the file of the II Additional Labour Court, Chennai expeditiously within a stipulated time. For Petitioner : Ms.R.K.Varrsha

ORDER

The prayer sought for in this writ petition is for a direction to the II Additional Labour Court to dispose of the petitioner's complaint expeditiously.

2. It is seen that the complaint was made on 05.01.2021. Owing to the Covid-19 Pandemic situation, most of the Courts have not been functioning under normal circumstances. It is seen https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

that from 09.04.2021 till 11.08.2021, the matter was being adjourned only for the purpose of taking steps to serve the respondent. On 16.08.2021, the respondent had filed a memo before the Labour Court and the matter was adjourned thereafter.

3. At this stage, it would be too pre-mature to direct the Labour Court to expeditiously dispose of the proceedings on the ground that there is a considerable delay. However, if the petitioner is granted liberty to seek for a similar relief before this Court, at a later stage, if it is found that there is an inordinate delay in the proceedings, the ends of justice could be secured.
