ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, seeking a direction to the respondents to allot a free house to petitioner under the Emergency Tsunami Rehabilitation Programme or under the Housing Scheme for Differently Abled Persons, by considering the Petitioner's representation dated 31.03.2026.
2. Heard Mr.P.Elayaraj Kumar, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the first respondent. Mr.S.Karthikeyan, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the second respondent. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel on either side, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
3. At the outset, learned Standing Counsel for second respondent would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 31.03.2026 would be considered by the second respondent in accordance with law, within a time period to be fixed by this Court.
3. In view of the above, taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to second respondent to consider petitioner's representation dated 31.03.2026, on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to petitioner and any other interested persons, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the representation and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the representation on its own merits and in accordance with law.
4. With the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
