Mr.S.Gunasekaran, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he was recruited as Grade - II Police Constable in the District Armed Reserve, Tutucurin District on 25.05.1988. Subsequently, he was promoted as Lance Naik on 26.12.1991 and on 29.05.1992, as Grade - II Naik. Further, he was promoted as Head Constable on 04.08.1997 and as Reserve Sub - Inspector of Police (Armed Reserve) on temporary basis on 03.01.2007.

3. The petitioner would contend that the persons, who were appointed as Grade - II Police Constable in Tamil Nadu Special Police and promoted as head Constable on 25.07.2000, were promoted as Sub Inspector of police in the year 2003. He submitted a representation dated 21.07.2015 to re-fix the seniority on par with his junior, A.Subbiah Pandian, but, it was not considered. Hence, the present writ petition.

4. Heard Mr.T.Ayngaraprabhu, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Gunasekaran, learned Government Advocate for the respondents.

5. This Court, considering the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the same, directs the second respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 21.07.2015 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner.

With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
