Respondent(s) PRAYER:-Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for an issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to forbear the respondents 1 to 3 from in anyway effecting the name transfer in Revenue records / documents pertaining to the land situated in S.No. 1792, ad measuring an extent of 8182 Sq.ft,St.Thomas Mount, Chennai 16 and consequently direct the respondents to receive the Electricity consumption charges and other dues payable to the Government and other statutory authorities from the petitioners wherever necessary till the disposal of C.M.A. 21 of 2023 pending on the file of Principal District Judge, Chengalput.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking to forbear the respondents 1 to 3 from in anyway effecting the name transfer in revenue records / documents pertaining to the land situated in S.No. 1792, ad measuring an extent of 8182 Sq.ft,St.Thomas Mount, Chennai 16 and consequently direct the respondents to receive the electricity consumption charges and other dues payable to the Government and other statutory authorities from the petitioners, wherever necessary till the disposal of C.M.A. 21 of 2023 pending on the file of Principal District Judge, Chengalpattu.

2.Learned counsel appearing for the 1st respondent would submit that the revenue records pertaining to the subject property were mutated in the name of the 4th respondent and therefore, the prayer sought for in this writ petition has become infructuous.

3.Learned counsel appearing for the 2nd respondent/Electricity Board would submit that the name transfer regarding the first service connection has been completed and the name transfer for the remaining service connections are

kept in abeyance.

4.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners as well as the learned respective counsel appearing for the respondents. 5.Considering the submissions made by either parties, it is evident that the revenue records of the subject properties are mutated in the name of the 4th respondent. As far as the electricity service connection is concerned, since all the revenue records are already mutated, they have to transfer the electricity service connection and at present it is kept in abeyance. Such being the case, the remedy available for the petitioner is to approach the appropriate Court of law to establish the rights of the petitioners.

6.In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of directing the petitioners to approach the appropriate Court so as to protect their interest. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 12-03-2026 rst Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order
