O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondent to consider the representation dated 09.03.2023 made by the petitioner and to take a decision within the time frame fixed by this Court.

2.Heard Mr.M.Jaikumar, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners and Mr.S.Arumugam, learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondent.

3.The case of the petitioners is that they have purchased the subject property through a registered Sale Deed dated 23.02.2007. The petitioners have submitted applications for transfer of name with respect to tax assessment and water tax. Since the same was not considered, the petitioners made a representation on 09.03.2023. Since the same did not evoke any response, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate direction. 4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and also the limited relief that has been sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the respondent to act upon the application submitted by the petitioner and take a decision with regard to the transfer of name for tax assessment and water tax in the name of the petitioners, on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The petitioners are directed to make a fresh representation to the respondent along with all the relevant documents and also a copy of this order.
