ORDER

(Made by Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy, J.) This writ petition is directed against a particular individual, namely, the sixth respondent in the writ petition. The petitioner seeks action against the said sixth respondent pursuant to his representations dated 02.09.2020 and 03.10.2020. 2.Mr.T.M.Pappiah, learned Special Government Pleader, submits that an inquiry was instituted by the Inspector General of Registration and pursuant thereto, the sixth respondent has been transferred as Sub-Registrar, Pennadam, Virudhachalam Registration District. As such, he submits that the writ petitioner's grievance has been addressed.

3.We find that the present writ petition targets a particular individual and we are not convinced that it is truly a petition in public interest. Nonetheless, we record the statement in the counter-affidavit of January, 2021 of the first respondent to the effect that the sixth respondent has, in any case, been transferred pursuant to the proceedings of the Inspector General of Registration. As such, nothing survives for adjudication in this writ petition. In the event the writ petitioner intends to canvass any personal grievance against the officials of the registration department, he may do so otherwise than by a public interest litigation after establishing his locus standi.

Accordingly, the writ petition, W.P.No.15792 of 2020 is closed. No costs.
