O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J] This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents herein to produce the petitioner's mother, namely, Indhira, aged 83 years before this Court and set her at liberty.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that her mother Indhira went missing from 27.07.2021. In this connection, the petitioner has given a complaint to the respondents. It is the grievance of the petitioner that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her mother.

3. Today, Mr.A.Sivakumar, Sub-Inspector of Police, is present.

4. On instructions, learned Government Advocate [crl.side] submits that based on the complaint of the petitioner, a case in ICE House P.S.Crime No.391 of 2021 has been registered for 'woman missing' and investigation is in progress.

5. In view of the above, we direct the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Royapettah, to monitor the investigation in ICE House P.S.Crime No.391 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue is secured, she shall be produced before the learned II Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders.

With the above direction, this Habeas Corpus Petition is disposed of.
